Pakistan Condemns Sydney Attack, Expresses Deep Grief and Solidarity with Australia

Islamabad:Pakistan has strongly condemned the deadly shooting incident in Sydney and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives.
President Asif Ali Zardari extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed and injured in the attack. He said that Pakistan, having suffered greatly from terrorism itself, fully understands the pain and trauma such attacks inflict on societies. The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance against terrorism in all its forms and expressed complete solidarity with the Australian government and people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his reaction to the incident, said that Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorist violence and stands with the affected families, as well as the government and people of Australia, in this difficult time.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also strongly condemned the terrorist attack and conveyed their sincere condolences to the Australian leadership and public.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that terrorism is an unforgivable crime against humanity, adding that Pakistan understands this threat well and shares the pain of the Australian people.
It is worth noting that at least 16 people were killed and 40 others injured when armed attackers opened fire on civilians at Bondi Beach in Sydney. According to police, two assailants carried out the attack. During a counter-operation, one attacker was shot dead, while the second was arrested in an injured condition.
