Fugitive Suspect in Dr. Wardah Murder Case Killed in Police Encounter

Abbottabad:** A fugitive suspect in the murder case of Dr. Wardah was killed during a police encounter, authorities confirmed on Monday.
According to police, a raid was conducted on Thandiani Road to arrest the main suspect, identified as Shamrez. During the operation, Shamrez and his accomplices opened fire on the police team. Police returned fire, resulting in the death of Shamrez at the scene.
Police officials said that four suspects have already been arrested in the Dr. Wardah murder case, including the prime accused Rida and her husband.
Investigations revealed that Dr. Wardah had entrusted 67 tolas of gold to her friend Rida for safekeeping. Later, Rida allegedly lured Dr. Wardah under the pretext of returning the gold and took her along.
Dr. Wardah was abducted from outside a hospital on December 4, and her body was found four days later at the Lari Banota area.
District Police Officer (DPO) Haroon Rashid stated that Dr. Wardah was murdered within an hour of her abduction. The suspects initially took her to an under-construction house in Jinnah Abad, where she was strangled to death. Her body was later buried near the Thandiani area.
Police say further investigations are ongoing, and legal action is being taken against all those involved in the crime.
