Flood Victims in Punjab Fear Looters More Than Water

LAHORE:As devastating floods continue to affect several districts in Punjab, **flood victims now face a new threat — looters arriving in large boats**, stealing valuables from submerged homes.

During an interview with senior journalist **Hamid Mir** on Geo News’ program **”Capital Talk”**, several flood victims **expressed deep frustration and fear**, revealing that **they hesitate to leave their flooded homes** — not because of the water, but due to **roaming thieves**.

> “The looters come in big boats and steal our valuables. We can’t leave our homes even to seek help,” a flood victim told Hamid Mir.

When asked by Hamid Mir about the **government’s response**, the victims replied sarcastically:

> “The looters have big boats, but the government only has small ones.”

Despite ongoing **rescue and relief efforts by the government and the Pakistan Army**, many **affected families have lost their homes, livestock, and belongings** to both the floodwaters and criminal opportunists.

The flood-hit areas of Punjab remain in crisis, and residents are calling for **better protection, faster evacuation resources, and stronger action against theft and lawlessness** in the disaster zones.
