Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Alleges Balochistan Government Avoiding Local Elections Out of Fear of Defeat

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily):** Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Secretary General of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP), has accused the Balochistan government of attempting to delay local government elections in Quetta to evade an expected defeat.

In a statement, Ziaratwal said the provincial government lacks a public mandate and is creating excuses to sabotage the democratic process. He added that authorities have repeatedly cited law and order or adverse weather conditions as reasons to postpone elections, while the real issue is that the government is aware that Form 47 candidates are widely rejected by the people.

He emphasized that citizens of Quetta are eager to address basic issues and elect their true representatives, but the government’s repeated obstacles are denying them their democratic rights.

Ziaratwal welcomed the Election Commission’s rejection of the government’s postponement requests and expressed hope that elections will be held on schedule. He warned that if the government persists with manipulative tactics, the public will take to the streets to defend their rights, noting that the government’s incompetence and bad faith have already been exposed.
