IHC Grants Protective Bail to YouTubers Rjabe Butt and Nadeem Mubarak, Bars Arrest at Islamabad Airport
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday granted protective bail to Pakistani YouTuber Rjabe Butt and TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, popularly known as “Nani Wala,” in multiple cases related to online betting and promotional activities. The court also directed authorities not to arrest the two upon their arrival at Islamabad International Airport.
The hearing was conducted by Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas, who had earlier summoned both social media personalities to appear before the court. They face charges involving the promotion of online betting platforms, gaming applications, and other controversial online activities.
During the proceedings, the petitioners’ counsel requested a 15-day transit bail, noting that a related case was also pending in Karachi. Responding to this, Justice Minhas granted a 10-day protective bail and instructed the accused to approach the relevant court within the given period.
Rjabe Butt, known for his luxury lifestyle vlogs and family-focused content, has recently been embroiled in legal complications due to his association with betting app promotions. With over 8.2 million YouTube subscribers and 2.7 million Instagram followers, Butt is one of Pakistan’s most prominent digital content creators.
His legal troubles extended overseas when UK authorities revoked his visa after discovering that he had failed to disclose details of ongoing cases in Pakistan during his visa application. He was subsequently deported, reportedly put on an early-morning flight to Pakistan. Butt has announced plans to appeal the decision and pursue legal remedies in London.
The cases surrounding Rjabe Butt and Nani Wala have sparked significant public debate about the role of influencers in promoting betting apps and other questionable digital content. Legal experts believe that the IHC’s decision will set an important precedent for handling similar cases in the future.
