Javeria Saud Reveals She Was Given No Dowry by Husband Saud
Karachi: Senior Pakistani actress Javeria Saud shared her thoughts on dowry and mahr, recalling the early days of her married life.
While hosting a Ramadan transmission on a private TV channel, where social issues are discussed and religious scholars provide guidance, Javeria Saud spoke about her marriage to actor Saud. She revealed that her husband refused to accept any dowry at the time of their wedding.
She added that her mahr was set at PKR 51,000, and Saud personally arranged for all household expenses and furniture. Gifts from relatives, such as a fridge, utensils, and other items, were present, but he did not accept them as dowry.
Javeria Saud also mentioned that even the wedding ceremonies, including the mehndi, were organized by Saud without placing any financial burden on her. She prayed that every girl finds a life partner who does not demand dowry and contributes to ending this tradition.
