Election Commission Announces Schedule for Islamabad Local Government Elections

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the schedule for local government elections in the federal capital.

According to the announcement, the elections will be held on **February 15** under the **Local Government Act 2015**.

Nomination papers will be submitted from **December 22 to 27**, while scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place from **December 30 to January 3**. Election symbols will be allotted to candidates on **January 16**.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, has been appointed as the District Returning Officer (DRO) for the local government polls.

Local body elections will be conducted across **125 union councils** of Islamabad.
