Families Forgive Judge’s Son in Islamabad Accident That Killed Two Girls; Court Grants Bail

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, the families of two girls who were killed after being hit by a judge’s son in Islamabad have pardoned the accused, leading to his release on bail.

According to Express News, the case was heard at the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad, where it was revealed that a settlement had been reached between the parties. The victims’ families formally forgave the accused, Abu Zar, the son of a serving judge.

Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi recorded the statements of the victims’ families. One girl’s brother appeared in court to testify, while her mother submitted her statement online. The father of the second girl also recorded his statement before the court.

Following the statements, the court approved Abu Zar’s bail and ordered his release.

The tragic incident occurred a few days earlier at PTV Chowk, where two women riding a scooter were struck by an overspeeding vehicle. One died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

Police had arrested the driver and registered a case at the Secretariat Police Station. He was subsequently remanded into police custody before today’s development led to his release.
