Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Highlights Economic Stability, Focus on Public Service Over Politics

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister **Maryam Nawaz** has stated that **Pakistan’s economy is emerging from the threat of default and is becoming more stable**, adding that those wishing for economic collapse have been proven wrong.

Addressing a public event, Nawaz criticized the **12-year rule of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa**, saying that the province’s government delivered zero performance. She said the people of KP rejected “politics of lies” by voting for **Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)** and emphasized that the KP Chief Minister should focus on provincial development rather than attacking federal and Punjab government institutions.

The CM added, “We have not received a mandate to sit outside Adiala Jail, but to serve the people.” She highlighted ongoing development initiatives, including the construction of **100,000 homes** under the *Apni Chhat Apna Ghar* program.

Maryam Nawaz also praised the **Suthra Punjab** program, calling it the largest project of its kind globally. She noted that **Forbes magazine** recognized the initiative, and that its teams have already collected **50,000 tons of waste**. She further stated that every district in Punjab has Suthra Punjab machinery and added that a **new sewage system** is being introduced across the province.

The Chief Minister’s remarks emphasized **governance and public service over political posturing**, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, housing, and sanitation in Punjab.
