Atta Tarar Says Critics of CDF Notification Should Be Ashamed, Praises Structural Changes in Military

Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar stated that senior journalists and social media users who launched a campaign against the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) notification should apologize to the nation for creating an unnecessary controversy.

Speaking to the media, Tarar said that Pakistan’s defense has been further strengthened, and structural changes in the armed forces have left the country’s enemies intimidated. He added that a unified command has been established for all forces, ensuring victory in any potential conflict.

The minister emphasized that both eastern and western borders are now secure, leaving no room for adversaries to test the nation.

Earlier, some TV channels had prematurely broadcast an incorrect notification, which was later corrected, and official apologies were issued by the concerned institutions.

Atta Tarar further warned that anyone who does not comply with the law will not be granted meetings. He described Adiala Jail not as a “Red Zone” but a “Shameless Zone,” where conspiracies against the country and interviews with Indian channels are conducted.

The notifications regarding the appointments were also issued today: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has been appointed as Chief of Defence Forces for five years, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu has received a two-year extension as head of the Pakistan Air Force. The extension for Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar will take effect from March 19, 2026.
