Balochistan Launches Educational Revolution: 200 Shelterless Schools to Be Built, 142 Buses for Students, and IT Labs Worth PKR 250 Million

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) – Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, announced that the provincial government has prioritized providing quality education and is taking concrete steps to address missing facilities and construct buildings for shelterless schools. Under flagship projects, a plan has been launched to build 200 shelterless school buildings across the province. These initiatives aim to reduce the educational crisis, restore public confidence, and ensure timely completion of development projects.

Speaking at a meeting on educational development projects, the Chief Secretary emphasized that the educational environment will be upgraded to meet modern standards, enabling children to benefit from contemporary education. The government has also initiated a school transport program, providing 142 buses for students across Balochistan.

In addition, the government is establishing modern IT and science laboratories in high and higher secondary schools, with PKR 250 million allocated this year to provide students with practical education and exposure to advanced computing and research facilities.

To improve sanitation and health conditions, a budget of PKR 500 million has been allocated for clean drinking water, toilets, and hand wash stations in schools, ensuring a safer and healthier learning environment.

The meeting also highlighted that under the Balochistan Education Foundation, 664 new schools have been established, allowing the enrollment of over 43,000 children. These measures are aimed at strengthening the province’s education system and significantly improving literacy rates and educational standards.
