Coach Driver Arrested, Smuggled Goods Seized as Passengers Protest Alleged Police Misconduct in Dera Murad Jamali

**Dera Murad Jamali (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Police conducted a raid on a passenger coach at Pat Feeder Bridge in Dera Murad Jamali, arresting the driver and seizing alleged smuggled foreign goods. The operation, however, sparked strong protests from passengers, who accused police officials of humiliating behavior and abandoning women and children on the roadside in freezing weather.

According to police, the action was carried out within the jurisdiction of Sadr Police Station. Sadr SHO Muhammad Murad Bhangar, along with SHO Notal Habibullah Lashari and a heavy police contingent, stopped a Mengal Coach traveling from Quetta to Usta Muhammad. All passengers, including women and children, were ordered to disembark, while the driver and conductor were arrested and the coach was taken into police custody.

Police officials stated that foreign goods were recovered from the coach and seized during the operation.

However, passengers—particularly women—alleged that police officers and personnel behaved rudely and disrespectfully. They claimed they were left helpless on the roadside in severe cold and darkness, raising concerns about their safety and welfare.

In response to the alleged misconduct and humiliating treatment, passengers staged a strong protest at the scene, demanding accountability and humane handling, especially of women and children, during law enforcement operations.
