Karachi Garments Factory Collapses in Fire, Two Firefighters Injured

Karachi: A fire at a garments factory in the Landhi area of Karachi caused the building to collapse on Thursday, leaving two firefighters injured.
The blaze, which broke out in the Landhi Export Processing Zone, intensified rapidly, resulting in portions of the factory falling. Rescue officials evacuated nearby residents and workers to ensure their safety.
According to authorities, more than 12 fire trucks and rescue vehicles are actively engaged in controlling the fire, which has been classified as a third-degree emergency due to its severity. Fire brigade teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the alert and began rescue operations.
All factory employees have been safely evacuated. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has called in additional fire tenders from across the city and requested assistance from nearby factories’ fire teams to speed up firefighting efforts.
The operation is ongoing as authorities work to fully contain the blaze and prevent further damage to surrounding areas.
