Judge’s Son Taken on Physical Remand in Islamabad Scooter Hit-and-Run Case

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — The minor son of **Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Muhammad Asif** has been placed on **physical remand** after allegedly running over and killing two girls riding a scooter.

Judicial Magistrate **Shaista Khan** approved the police request for remand to complete investigations. According to police, the incident occurred Monday night near the **Pakistan National Council of Arts** in Islamabad, when a reportedly high-speed black vehicle struck the two girls, killing them instantly. The driver initially fled the scene.

Inspector **Muhammad Asghar** stated in the FIR that police traced the vehicle using its registration number. The suspect was taken to the hospital for medical treatment before being placed in custody. Medical and forensic samples were collected, and the vehicle was seized for further investigation.

The case includes charges under Pakistan Penal Code sections **279 (speeding and careless driving), 322 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), and 427 (mischief causing damage)**.

The investigating officer informed the court that physical remand is required to verify medical reports, inspect the vehicle, and record eyewitness statements. The court approved the request.

The bodies of the deceased girls have been sent to the **Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences** for postmortem. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to determine whether the accident resulted from negligence or excessive speed and assured the families that investigations will be conducted transparently and on merit.
