Salma Zafar Breaks Down While Recalling Sacrifices as a Mother: “I Couldn’t Buy a Rs 2,000 Nose Ring

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Pakistani actress **Salma Zafar Asim** opened up about the emotional and financial sacrifices she made as a mother, recalling how she once couldn’t buy a *Rs 2,000 nose ring* because she had saved that money for her children. Speaking in a recent interview, the actress broke down while reflecting on years of struggle and self-neglect.

“We make the biggest mistake when we don’t take care of ourselves,” she said. “If we don’t value ourselves, no one else will. I learned this much later in life. My entire life has been busy and full of struggle.”

Salma shared a memory from her early years:
“I remember standing at Teen Talwar after getting my nose pierced. I wanted to buy a nose ring for Rs 2,000, but I didn’t buy it. My friend insisted, but I had kept that money for my children. My daughter was extremely upset. She always asked why I never bought anything for myself.”

She revealed that throughout her life, she only owned things that her sisters, friends, or daughter gifted her. “My children grew up, got married, settled down—but my daughter still feels that pain. She now brings clothes for me often, and my wardrobe is full now. Alhamdulillah.”

The actress, who entered the entertainment industry in 2016 and worked in several dramas, emotionally acknowledged the years she spent sacrificing her wishes for her children. Even a small moment—being unable to buy a simple nose ring—became a lasting memory for her daughter, symbolizing a lifetime of sacrifices.

According to Salma, the biggest mistake mothers make is ignoring their own needs. “These sacrifices give mothers peace, whether others understand them or not. But every woman should love herself too, so she doesn’t regret it later in life.”

She urged women to prioritize their own well-being alongside their families, saying that motherhood should not mean erasing one’s own identity.
