Ameer Haider Hoti Denies Any Contact from Federal Government on KP Governorship

Islamabad — Awami National Party (ANP) leader **Ameer Haider Khan Hoti** has clarified that neither he nor his party has been contacted by the federal government regarding the **governorship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa**.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Hoti said that despite circulating reports, no one has taken him into confidence. He added that he is bound by party decisions and cannot independently be part of any such move.

Hoti reiterated that he is a dedicated ANP worker, and any final decision regarding the governorship will be made by the party’s leadership. According to him, whether it is the imposition of governor’s rule or any administrative change, all actions must be based on collective party consultation.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the federal government is considering the possibility of **governor’s rule in KP**, with indications that the current Governor **Faisal Karim Kundi** may continue. However, if a change is deemed necessary, three political names are reportedly under consideration: **Ameer Haider Hoti**, **Pervez Khattak**, and **Aftab Sherpao**.

If political consensus is not reached, two retired military officers — **Lt Gen (R) Ghayur** and **Lt Gen (R) Khalid Rabbani** — are also being discussed as potential candidates.

Hoti’s statement makes it clear that **no formal communication or decision** has been made regarding the KP governorship, and that any progress will only occur with full party consultation.
