Teaching License Mandatory for All Public and Private Teachers in Balochistan from 2026

Quetta — **Balochistan’s School Education Department has announced that starting 2026, all public and private school teachers must obtain a teaching license**. Teachers will be required to pass a standardized test, and only those who pass will be eligible for the teaching license.
Additionally, **contract extensions for temporary teachers will be granted only to licensed individuals**, aiming to ensure higher educational standards and professional competence among teachers. The **Pakistan Education Commission will oversee the teaching license examinations**, while final approval of the policy will be obtained from the provincial cabinet.
Officials, led by **Asfandyar Khan Kakr**, stated that these measures are being implemented to enhance teacher capacity and improve the overall quality of education in the province.
