Mathira Hits Back at Body-Shamers, Calls Critics “Mentally Ill” After Ramp Walk Backlash

Lahore: Pakistani model, actress, and TV host **Mathira** has strongly responded to the criticism she received following her recent ramp walk at a fashion show. Videos of her catwalk went viral on social media, triggering negative comments and body-shaming by various users.
Addressing the backlash through an Instagram story, Mathira said she had seen and read many hurtful remarks about her appearance, but expressed gratitude to the event organizers for inviting her. She slammed the critics, calling them “mentally ill,” and emphasized that she had not done anything wrong to deserve such hostility.
Mathira revealed that she recently underwent **knee surgery** and also suffers from **thyroid-related health issues**, both of which have affected her physical appearance. She added that she refuses to take such negativity seriously because it reflects the “small-mindedness” of society.
The actress also shared a screenshot of a social media page that mocked her body shape, criticizing the page for spreading toxic content. She said such pages and individuals should be ashamed of their behavior.
Mathira reiterated that she lives by her own principles and considers herself beautiful, stating proudly, *“I am a big girl, but it’s the world that has a small mind.”*
This is not the first time Mathira has defended herself against body-shaming; she has consistently clapped back at critics and encouraged others to ignore toxic opinions.
