Punjab Government Returns Land Ownership to Over 1,000 Families in Just 48 Hours

Lahore: In a historic move, the Punjab government has restored land ownership to 1,005 families within 48 hours, ending years of legal battles and the unchecked rule of land grabbers.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, an important meeting reviewed the effective implementation of the new Property Ordinance. The government set a remarkable record by resolving 1,005 land cases in just two days.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that once a land case is decided, immediate possession must follow—without any delay, recommendation, or negligence. “A decision is incomplete unless the rightful owner takes physical possession of the land. Ownership should be visible on the ground, not just on paper,” she stated.

She further directed that cases involving women’s land rights will receive top priority in Punjab. “Every marla, kanal, and acre in Punjab must belong solely to its legitimate owner,” she added.

The Chief Minister urged anyone facing illegal occupation of their land or property to submit an application to their respective Deputy Commissioner’s office, promising that decisions will be delivered within days. This initiative marks a significant step in ensuring justice and protecting property rights in the province.
