Poverty and Backwardness Among Pashtuns Result of National Subjugation, Unity Seen as Only Solution – Muhammad Isa Roshan

**Pishin (Daily Qudrat):** Leaders of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party, including Central Secretary of Information Muhammad Isa Roshan, Provincial Secretary Faqir Khushal Kasi, Deputy Secretaries Professor Asad Tarin and Ghani Fidai, Senior District Deputy Organizer Naseebullah Kalewal, and district leaders Dr. Hayat Khan, Syed Fida Agha, Anwar Wahdat, Pir Hamdullah, and Ismat Khan, stated that the poverty, hunger, deprivation, backwardness, and lack of basic facilities among the Pashtun nation are not accidental tragedies. They said these issues stem from historical national subjugation, political disenfranchisement, and the failure to achieve Pashtun national unity, including the establishment of a province.

Speaking at a public jirga held at the residence of Regional Secretary Salar Khan in Koneh Market, the leaders described the ongoing collective injustices, forced deprivations, and organized oppression against Pashtuns as part of long-standing policies aimed at denying their national rights. They emphasized that the only way to overcome this grave situation is through national unity, consensus, and the formation of a united national front, which they called an urgent national necessity.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the upcoming district conference on December 2, which will coincide with the 52nd death anniversary of Salar Shuhada Khan and commemorate Pashtun national movement leader Mera Khan Mandokhel. The leaders said the historic conference will honor the sacrifices of past leaders and renew commitment to organizing and accelerating the struggle to relieve the Pashtun nation from ongoing hardships.

They stressed the importance of unity among all factions of the Pashtun national political movement and criticized divisive behavior, negative criticism, and factional conflicts, calling them regrettable and condemnable. The leaders urged Pashtun leadership to recognize the severity of current circumstances and fulfill their responsibilities, warning that failure to do so would lead to further destruction, loss, and national harm. Party officials and workers were encouraged to maintain discipline, ensure the success of the conference, honor the martyrs appropriately, and effectively convey the message of national unity.
