Government Cannot Employ Millions; Private Sector Must Be Strengthened, Says Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has emphasized that the government alone cannot provide employment to millions of young people, urging the need to strengthen and empower the private sector to address rising unemployment in the province.
Speaking at the “Job Fair 2025” ceremony held at BUITEMS University’s Takatu Campus, the governor said that all public universities in Balochistan have now developed the capability to offer advanced training to officers of major corporations and government departments through their senior scholars and researchers. He added that degrees and certifications issued by these institutions are highly credible.
Governor Mandokhail stressed the importance of utilizing the expertise of academic professionals for the country’s development. He said that Balochistan faces unique challenges, especially the lack of employment opportunities compared to Punjab and Sindh, making such job fairs essential for bridging the gap between academia and industry.
He noted that job fairs help students understand the demands of practical life, as education and employment are deeply interconnected. Universities, he added, must provide not only quality education but also essential skills, networking, and opportunities for students to excel in their chosen careers.
The governor reiterated that the private sector must be strengthened to create sustainable employment opportunities, as the government cannot absorb the growing number of job seekers.
More than a hundred national and international companies and banks set up stalls at the BUITEMS Job Fair 2025, where representatives briefed students about their organizations, services, and available career opportunities. Governor Mandokhail visited various stalls and congratulated Vice-Chancellor Dr. Khalid Hafeez and his team on successfully organizing the event.
