Balochistan Finance Minister Calls for Strategy to Bring Non-Registered Sectors Into Tax Net

Quetta: Balochistan’s Finance Minister, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, has directed authorities to adopt a comprehensive strategy to bring non-registered sectors into the tax net, stressing the need to modernize the province’s revenue collection system.
He issued these directives while presiding over an important meeting of the Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA), which reviewed the province’s tax collection mechanisms and strategies for improvement.
The meeting was attended by Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, Special Secretary Finance Jahangir Kakar, NFC Consultant for Balochistan Mahfooz Ali Khan, BRA Chairman Abdullah Khan, and senior officials of the Finance Department.
Chairman BRA briefed the participants on the current tax collection landscape and the authority’s future roadmap.
Minister Nosherwani emphasized that upgrading the tax collection system in line with modern requirements is essential for sustainable economic growth. He stated that bringing non-registered sectors under the tax umbrella is critical to enhancing provincial revenues and ensuring long-term financial stability.
He added that strengthening BRA’s capacity and transforming it into a modern, efficient institution is vital for increasing revenue generation, which will positively impact the province’s economy.
The finance minister appreciated BRA’s ongoing efforts and reiterated the government’s commitment to accelerating and ensuring transparency in tax reforms to achieve financial self-reliance for Balochistan.
