President Trump Signs Executive Order to Designate Certain Muslim Brotherhood Branches as Terrorist Organizations

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order initiating the formal process to designate certain branches of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organizations.

According to international news agencies, the executive order directs federal investigative agencies to begin the official procedure to label specific factions of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist groups.

Under the order, the Secretaries of State and Treasury are required to submit a joint report within 30 days, reviewing the designated branches. Following this, within 45 days, relevant departments will complete the final actions under the Immigration and Nationality Act and the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

The executive order specifically names branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt. This move is being viewed as a significant shift in U.S. foreign and security policy.

These designated branches will be classified as foreign terrorist organizations and included in the specially designated global terrorist groups list. The document asserts that since its establishment in Egypt in 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood has evolved into an international network, with several branches contributing to violence and regional instability.
