Balochistan Faces Severe Gas Shortages Amid Harsh Winter, BAP Demands Immediate Action

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat):** The central spokesperson of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) expressed serious concern over gas supply disruptions, low pressure, and prolonged load-shedding in Quetta and other cold regions of the province.

In an official statement, the spokesperson said that the lack of gas during extreme winter has caused severe hardship for the public. Several districts of Balochistan are currently experiencing freezing temperatures, with December, January, and February often dropping below zero. In such conditions, domestic consumers facing a gas shortage is both regrettable and distressing.

The spokesperson added that women, children, and the elderly are enduring severe discomfort due to reduced gas pressure and unannounced supply cuts. Despite repeated appeals in the Senate, National Assembly, and Balochistan Assembly, no serious measures have been taken to resolve the crisis.

The statement criticized what it described as “stepchild treatment” of Balochistan regarding gas distribution and called on the federal government to urgently coordinate with gas authorities to resolve the ongoing crisis and protect the public from further hardship during the winter months.
