KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Says Party Will Decide Future Protest Strategy

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that he will continue to criticize policies that harm the country, adding that the party’s decision regarding tomorrow’s protest will be fully implemented.

Speaking to the media outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Afridi said that Salman Akram Raja will announce details about the upcoming protest. “Our movement is already ongoing. Whatever decision the party makes regarding the November 26 protest will be followed,” he stated.

He added that they speak only the truth, and if someone finds it bitter, it makes no difference. “The federal government owes us more than Rs 3 trillion. They should pay it so the province can progress,” he said.

Afridi claimed that during the Haripur by-election, there were clear discrepancies between Form-45 and the results issued by the Returning Officer (RO). “We will pursue a legal battle against this,” he said.

He also clarified that his speech at the Havelian rally was within constitutional and legal limits. “I only said that action will be taken against those involved in election rigging. What is wrong with that? Yet the Election Commission has issued me a notice,” he questioned.
