Historic 5-Year Technology and Expertise Agreement Signed Between Pakistan and China

Islamabad: A significant milestone in Pakistan-China industrial cooperation has been achieved with the signing of a historic 5-year technology transfer agreement. The agreement aims to introduce modern machinery in the footwear, leather, and garment sectors.
Under the Industrial Cooperation framework of the Sino-Pakistan Industrial and Financial Cooperation (SIFC), the agreement was signed between the Pakistan Industrial Sewing Machines Importers and Dealers Association (PISMIDA) and the Chinese organization, Guangdong Shoe Making Machinery Association.
The core objective of the agreement is to modernize the machinery used in the footwear, leather, and garment industries, thereby boosting production capacity and competitiveness.
Mohammad Yaseen, Vice Chairman of PISMIDA, who represented Pakistan at the international “JISMA” exhibition in China, expressed that this agreement is a historic milestone, offering immense benefits for several Pakistani industries.
High-level discussions during the event focused on strengthening Pakistan-China cooperation and exploring strategic development opportunities.
With the support of SIFC, the integration of advanced technology and aligned training programs is expected to improve Pakistan’s labor market and industrial efficiency.
