Quetta Residents Complain of Chaos Due to Development Work and Roadblocks

Quetta: Residents of Quetta are facing severe hardships as ongoing development work and security measures have turned city life into a daily struggle. Many major roads have been dug up for reconstruction, but locals claim the work has caused more problems than solutions. Allegations have emerged that officials are exploiting the projects for personal gain, with funds being released but minimal progress on actual construction.

A recent blast in the city had already blocked key highways, forcing residents to spend hours stuck in traffic. Citizens report that road closures and security barriers have made even short journeys painfully long, with ten-minute commutes stretching to hours. Some residents have described the situation as mentally exhausting and said it also hampers access to hospitals and essential services.

Public circles have criticized the government for focusing on unnecessary reconstruction of already built roads instead of addressing pressing issues like water shortages and basic facilities. They demand that authorities prioritize genuine public welfare over bureaucratic procedures and commissions.

While security remains a priority, locals warn that excessive roadblocks and barriers are worsening their daily struggles rather than providing relief. Citizens are urging the government to take urgent corrective measures to ease their hardships.
