India: Young Man Murders 19-Year-Old Girl for Refusing Marriage in Lucknow

**Islamabad** – In a shocking incident in **Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh**, a 19-year-old girl was allegedly **murdered by a young man who attacked her after she refused his marriage proposal**.

According to Indian media, the incident occurred in the **Mohan Lalganj area**, where the victim, identified as **Priyanshi**, was found dead at her home. The suspect, **Alok**, reportedly knew the victim. Preliminary investigations indicate that the attack followed a heated argument between the two shortly before the murder.

Police said Alok arrived at Priyanshi’s home on a motorcycle, attacked her with a knife, and subsequently **slit her throat** before fleeing the scene. Neighbors alerted authorities, prompting senior police officers, including ADC and ACP, to reach the location along with forensic and fingerprint experts.

Authorities confirmed that the murder stemmed from a **personal dispute**, and efforts are underway to apprehend the fugitive suspect. CCTV footage is also being reviewed, and forensic investigations and witness statements are ongoing.

This incident follows similar cases in **Uttar Pradesh** this week, including the murder of a 17-year-old girl by a military officer in Prayagraj over a dispute regarding marriage. Another recent case in **Kanpur** involved the killing of a 20-year-old girl, **Aknaksha**, by her acquaintance, whose body was disposed of in a river after being stuffed in a bag. Both suspects were later arrested after a two-month investigation.
