Election Commission Restricts Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Amid Code of Conduct Violations

Dera Ghazi Khan – The **Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)** has taken strict action to ensure impartiality in the electoral process by effectively restricting the activities of **Huthaifa Rehman**, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, confining him to his residence.

According to reports, credible sources stated that following instructions from the **District Returning Officer (DRO)** and other officials, the special assistant was barred from leaving Dera Ghazi Khan. These measures were taken to uphold the neutrality of the electoral process at all costs.

The ECP emphasized its **zero-tolerance policy** toward violations of the code of conduct, noting that similar actions have been taken against figures such as **Owais Leghari** and **Rana Sanaullah**, demonstrating that no one is exempt from accountability.

The Commission has issued strict directives to all DROs and Returning Officers (ROs) to ensure complete impartiality during the elections, warning that any breach of the code of conduct will result in **strict disciplinary action** against responsible officials.

Separately, in **PP-116 Faisalabad**, a notice has been issued to **Provincial Minister Rana Sikandar** for participating in the electoral campaign of candidate **Rana Shaharyar**, with the **District Monitoring Officer** summoning him for clarification.

The ECP reiterated that all election-related activities must remain neutral, free from pressure or influence, to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
