YouTuber Joe Fazer Cuts Afghanistan Trip Short After Taliban Detention Scare

Famous fitness and lifestyle YouTuber **Joe Fazer** ended his trip to Afghanistan within just 24 hours after facing a tense confrontation with Taliban security forces in Kabul. The YouTuber described the experience as one of the most stressful moments of his life.

Joe Fazer and his cameraman Jack travelled from Istanbul to Kabul, hoping to capture the “real face of Afghanistan.” Surprisingly, their first interactions were positive. Immigration officials asked only a single question and stamped their passports without any interrogation. Outside the airport, locals welcomed them warmly, and even Taliban security personnel greeted them with smiles and wished them a safe trip.

However, the situation changed abruptly when they visited a mosque. Taliban security officials stopped them after noticing a microphone attached to Joe’s clothing. The officers questioned him about whether he possessed a journalist visa — something Joe did not have.

The security personnel covered their cameras, photographed them, and took their passports, creating an atmosphere of fear. Their local guide managed to calm the situation but later told Joe that two foreign YouTubers had recently been arrested for filming without permission and had reportedly been in jail for nearly three months. He also told them that authorities sometimes view foreign vloggers as potential spies.

Later, another group of officials stopped them in a public park and conducted further checks. Although they were eventually allowed to go, the fear of potential detention remained.

Back at the hotel, Joe and Jack decided not to take any further risks. They immediately booked the next flight out of Kabul and left the following day.

Joe Fazer’s entire Kabul tour lasted barely three hours before he abandoned the trip altogether.
