Pakistani Rapper Talha Anjum Apologizes for Waving Indian Flag at Nepal Concert After Backlash

Pakistani rapper and singer **Talha Anjum** has issued a formal apology after a controversy erupted over him waving an Indian flag during a recent concert in **Kathmandu, Nepal**.
The incident drew widespread criticism across social media, with many Pakistanis expressing anger over the act and Anjum’s initial attempt to defend it. In response, a Pakistani citizen also served the artist with a **legal notice**, demanding an unconditional public apology.
According to the notice, Anjum’s act “inflicted emotional distress, public outrage, and hurt nationalistic and religious sentiments” among millions of Pakistanis both at home and abroad. It further stated that the gesture had the potential to exacerbate already heightened tensions between Pakistan and India—two nations with a long history of conflicts, border disputes, and security concerns.
The notice warned that if the rapper failed to offer an apology, a criminal case would be registered against him without further warning.
Talha Anjum has since expressed **remorse** during a private TV interview, publicly apologizing for his actions and acknowledging the hurt caused to the Pakistani public.
