Complete Ban Imposed on Sale and Purchase of Illegal Portions and Extra Floors in Karachi’s South District
Islamabad – Authorities in Karachi’s South District have imposed a complete ban on the sale and purchase of illegal building portions and unauthorized additional floors. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) South has issued a formal notification to all government registrars and builders.
According to the DC South, illegal construction activities in areas such as Lyari, Garden, Old City, and Clifton have become a serious concern. Several real estate agents are reportedly involved in selling and marketing unauthorized portions.
The notification directs all registrars to refrain from registering any properties involving illegal floors or portions. Officials found approving registries or sub-leases of unlawful properties will face strict action.
The deputy commissioner further stated that a large-scale and immediate crackdown against illegal constructions in the South District is being launched.
