PPP Parliamentary Leader Confirms Sarfaraz Bugti as Balochistan CM, Denies Rumors

Quetta: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Parliamentary Leader Mir Sadiq Umrani has clarified that ongoing rumors about a change in Balochistan’s Chief Minister are completely baseless. Speaking to the media in the provincial assembly, he emphasized that the public should not be misled by false reports.
Umrani revealed that he himself was a candidate for the Chief Minister position, but the party leadership chose Sarfaraz Bugti, who will continue to serve as the province’s CM. “I strongly deny the news circulating in newspapers and media yesterday; it is entirely untrue,” he stated.
He added that the right to select the Chief Minister rests solely with the PPP leadership, and no individual’s opinion can influence the party’s policy. “I do not recognize Ali Hassan Zohri, yet I am fully committed to abiding by the decisions of the PPP leadership. Whatever decision the party makes will be final and binding for all,” he said.
Umrani praised the role of party leaders, including Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto, and Faryad Talpur, noting that their guidance shapes the party’s policy and contributes to the province’s development. He reiterated that Sarfaraz Bugti is and will remain Balochistan’s Chief Minister, emphasizing that the decision is final and will be implemented. He appealed to the public and media to focus on the party leadership’s vision for the province’s progress and not be swayed by unrelated statements.
