Extortion Threats Escalate in Karachi: Manghopir Factory Owner Receives Rs 1 Billion Demand with Bullets

KARACHI – Extortion-related incidents continue to rise in the city, as the owner of a marble factory in Manghopir received an extortion slip demanding **Rs 10 crore (Rs 100 million)** along with **two bullets**, according to police on Wednesday. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.

Police officials said the threat appears linked to the recent uptick in extortion attempts across Karachi. On Tuesday, a similar incident occurred on Tariq Road, where armed men opened fire on a car belonging to a showroom owner after he allegedly refused to pay **Rs 5 million** in extortion.

A case regarding the firing incident has also been registered. Authorities believe both cases may be connected to extortion rackets operating in the city.

Police say they are actively investigating both incidents and have assured that the suspects will be arrested soon.
