Three-Day Local Holidays Announced in Mansehra; Punjab Schools to Observe Winter Break

ISLAMABAD – The district administration of Mansehra has declared a three-day local holiday on November 22, 23, and 24, 2025, due to the NA-18 by-election. According to the notification, all government and private schools in the constituency will remain closed during this period to prevent any untoward incidents. The by-election is scheduled for November 23, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has officially announced winter vacations for all educational institutions across the province. As per the education department’s notification, the winter break will start on December 23, 2025, and continue until January 11, 2026. Schools will reopen on January 13, 2026, marking the beginning of the new academic session.

The notification emphasizes that the schedule applies uniformly to both public and private schools, and no institution is permitted to alter it independently. Authorities cited the harsh winter and student health concerns as the primary reasons, aiming to protect children from illnesses and ensure they return well-prepared for the new academic session. Earlier, the Punjab government had also adjusted school timings due to increasing smog, mandating that no school could open before 8:45 a.m.
