Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Promises to Start Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway This Year

Karachi:Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, has promised that work on the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway will commence this year and will be completed within three years. He made this commitment during a press conference at the Pakistan Business Council in Karachi on Monday.

Ahsan Iqbal shared that work on the Hyderabad-Sukkur Highway will begin this year, and the project will be completed in three years. Additionally, the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway will be built along a new route.

He criticized the previous PTI government for halting the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway project, which resulted in the cost of the project doubling.

The minister also highlighted other major infrastructure initiatives, stating that a Rs 5 billion project for the Karachi SITE area has been approved, and 100% funding is being provided for the Rs 125 billion K4 project. He emphasized that political stability and continuity in policies are essential for the country’s development.

Ahsan Iqbal also addressed the economic situation, mentioning that Pakistan had defaulted on April 1, 2022, but the government managed to bring the country back on track in a short period.
