Tri-Nation T20 Series Begins Today in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: The Tri-Nation T20 Series kicks off today in Rawalpindi, with the **opening match between hosts Pakistan and Zimbabwe**.
During the trophy unveiling ceremony, the captains of all three participating teams — Pakistan, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka — were present.
Pakistan’s captain **Salman Ali Agha** expressed confidence ahead of the event, saying the series will offer good competition. He added that the team will try to give opportunities to new players and highlighted that Pakistan has quality all-rounders who can perform both as complete batters and bowlers.
Zimbabwean captain **Sikandar Raza** said his side will aim to reach the final, while Sri Lankan captain **Dasun Shanaka** stated that his team is prepared to face every challenge.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed that two of its players — captain **Charith Asalanka** and fast bowler **Asitha Fernando** — have decided to return home due to illness and will not participate in the tri-series.
