Tension in Balochistan Assembly: Opposition Leader Mir Younus Zehri Walks Out Over Denied Floor Time; Speaker Apologizes

QUETTA – The Balochistan Assembly witnessed a heated exchange on Monday between Speaker and Opposition Leader Mir Younus Aziz Zehri. The confrontation began when Zehri raised a point of order, expressing frustration over being repeatedly denied permission to speak on a resolution.
Zehri pointed out that while the leader of the house or opposition is usually allowed to address the assembly, he was not granted the floor. In protest, he announced a walkout. As Zehri and his supporters began leaving the assembly, the Speaker addressed him, stating that speaking rights are given according to assembly rules. Recognizing Zehri’s concerns, the Speaker ultimately apologized, defusing the situation.
