IG Police Orders Tightened Security in Quetta Red Zone: “No Negligence Will Be Tolerated”

Quetta: Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, conducted a detailed visit on Monday to review security arrangements in the highly sensitive Red Zone of the provincial capital. He was accompanied by the DIG Quetta, SSP Operations, and other senior police officials.
During the inspection, the IG Police examined various security checkpoints, patrolling mechanisms, weapon readiness, and CCTV coverage across the Red Zone. He also inspected the inner and outer areas of the Civil Secretariat, reviewing security at sensitive offices, visitor management systems, walk-through gates, and control room monitoring.
Issuing strict instructions for further strengthening security, IG Tahir emphasized, *“The Red Zone is the administrative and political nerve centre of the provincial government. No negligence in its security will be tolerated.”*
The IG also visited the Smart Police Station and Civil Lines Police Station, expressing satisfaction over overall arrangements. Speaking to the media, he reaffirmed that protecting citizens’ lives and property remains the police force’s top priority.
“All available resources will be utilized to maintain law and order, and security will be further tightened not only in the Red Zone but across the entire city,” he added.
