Shaheen Afridi Praises Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan Ahead of Tri-Series

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan cricket captain Shaheen Afridi has expressed strong confidence in senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, praising their consistent performances and leadership within the team.

Speaking at a press conference, Shaheen said that having senior players in the squad is crucial. “Babar Azam and Rizwan have always delivered. We were waiting for Babar’s century—he worked hard, trusted himself, and prepared with great focus in the nets,” he added.

The ODI captain also applauded Mohammad Rizwan’s recent form, stating that the wicketkeeper-batter successfully completed the chase in both matches. “Rizwan has been outstanding and highly reliable,” Shaheen said.

Talking about all-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jr., Shaheen noted that the team is utilizing his skills effectively. “Wasim Jr. suffered from injuries but stayed connected with the team and is now contributing well.”

Shaheen further stated that the young players in the national squad are performing impressively and gaining confidence.

Looking ahead to the upcoming tri-series, Shaheen affirmed that Pakistan is fully prepared. “We are ready for every challenge. I have complete trust in all the players, and we aim to deliver our best in the tri-series as well,” he said.
