PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Announces Legal Action Against British Magazine’s Report on Bushra Bibi

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has announced legal action against a sensational report published in the British magazine *The Economist* concerning Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan.

In an exclusive statement to private media, Barrister Gohar described the article as “malicious and based on falsehoods,” emphasizing that PTI reserves the right to take legal action. He said such tactics will not break Bushra Bibi, who is currently in jail, and condemned the timing and content of the report, calling it sponsored and politically motivated.

He added that the article’s main purpose is character assassination of Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan. “Bushra Bibi is bravely enduring imprisonment solely because of her position as the spouse of PTI’s founder. Attempts to malign her character are nothing new,” he said, recalling that she had previously faced and been acquitted of baseless allegations related to the period of *iddat*.

Barrister Gohar further stated that time will prove the report to be a product of distortion and falsehood, and that its publication at this moment is a deliberate act of provocation and character defamation.
