PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Rejects “Sponsored” Article Against Bushra Bibi, Announces Legal Action

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has strongly condemned a recently published article targeting Bushra Bibi, calling it “malicious, fabricated, and sponsored.” He announced that the party reserves the right to pursue legal action against those responsible.
In his statement, Barrister Gohar said the article was deliberately written to malign Bushra Bibi and PTI founder Imran Khan. He added that Bushra Bibi is bravely facing imprisonment solely because she is the spouse of the PTI founder.
He recalled that similar “baseless and shameful allegations” had been leveled against her in the past, including accusations related to marriage during the period of *iddat*, for which she had already been acquitted.
“These allegations were proven false, and this latest claim is also nothing but a fabricated story,” Gohar stated. “Such tactics cannot break Bushra Bibi. Publishing such an article while she is in jail is condemnable.”
He further said that these types of articles are often sponsored and politically motivated, and PTI will take legal steps to respond. Barrister Gohar also referred to a recent apology issued by the BBC for mis-editing a speech of the U.S. President, saying that “time will prove that these claims too are based on distortion and falsehood.”
He reiterated that the publication of the article at this moment is meant to incite controversy and constitutes a clear attempt at character assassination.
