President Asif Ali Zardari Signs 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill into Law

**ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily):** President **Asif Ali Zardari** has signed the **27th Constitutional Amendment Bill**, officially making it part of the **Constitution of Pakistan** after its approval by both houses of Parliament — the **National Assembly** and the **Senate**.
Following parliamentary approval, the **Senate Secretariat** forwarded the **Constitutional Amendment Bill 2025** to the **Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs**, which then sent it to the **President** for assent. With the President’s signature, the bill will now be published in the **official gazette** by the **Ministry of Law**.
Earlier, the **Senate** had passed the revised text of the **27th Amendment** with a **two-thirds majority**. The bill was presented by **Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar**, and its clauses were approved one by one.
The **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** boycotted the voting process, while the **Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F)** voted against the amendment. PTI members walked out before the final vote, while JUI-F lawmakers remained in the house.
In total, **64 members voted in favor** of the amendment, and **four JUI-F members opposed** it.
The **27th Constitutional Amendment** introduces significant changes to Pakistan’s constitutional and judicial structure, including the formation of a **Federal Constitutional Court** and adjustments to the **powers and structure of the armed forces** under the new legal framework.
