Governor Balochistan Orders Immediate Measures to Resolve Public Gas Supply Complaints

QUETTA: Governor of Balochistan, **Jaffar Khan Mandokhail**, has directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to residents of Quetta with **full pressure**, particularly during the ongoing cold season. He emphasized that **immediate and practical steps** must be taken to address all public complaints related to gas shortages.

Presiding over a briefing at the **Governor House Quetta** on Wednesday regarding the performance of **Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC)**, the governor instructed that the gas shutdown at 10 p.m. be reconsidered and extended to provide relief to citizens. He also ordered **strict legal action** against those involved in the installation or sale of **illegal gas compressors**.

The governor said that these measures aim to **provide relief to Quetta residents** and improve their overall quality of life. During the session, **SSGC General Manager Muhammad Raheel Malik** briefed the governor on the company’s operations, while **Chief Manager Billing Muhammad Imran Azam** and **Hafiz Muhammad Yousuf** were also present.

Governor Mandokhail urged the public to cooperate with the government by ensuring **timely payment of gas bills**, noting that non-payment negatively impacts institutional performance and increases public hardship.

He further observed that in some areas, **responsible consumers** who pay their bills are also affected when gas supply is reduced or cut off due to others’ negligence. The governor was also briefed on the challenges faced by the company and the steps being taken to improve service delivery.

Mandokhail directed SSGC to **intensify efforts** to ensure smooth gas supply and promptly resolve consumer complaints to prevent public inconvenience during the winter season.
