After 27th Amendment, Only Allah’s Court Remains, Says Asad Qaiser

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly Speaker **Asad Qaiser** has strongly criticized the **27th Constitutional Amendment**, declaring that it has placed the judiciary **under the control of the executive**, leaving **“only Allah’s court”** as the final source of justice.
Speaking to the media during his court appearance, Qaiser said the amendment **offers nothing for the public** and has effectively **stripped the judiciary of its independence**, forcing citizens to struggle for justice.
He remarked, “If a judge from Peshawar is transferred to Islamabad or Punjab, how can he perform freely? This amendment has made the courts subordinate to the administration. Now only Allah’s court remains.”
Qaiser further claimed that **two senators were pressured** into supporting the amendment, adding that **the 18th Amendment** had been passed with the consensus of all political parties, unlike the **controversial 27th Amendment**. He said, “The 1973 Constitution was a gift from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, but Bilawal Bhutto has buried his grandfather’s legacy. Even Aimal Wali supported this amendment. Saifullah Abro has been expelled from the party and action will be taken against him.”
The PTI leader also announced plans for a **peace jirga**, emphasizing that it is part of regional tradition. He said relations with Afghanistan are strained, but the aim is to hold a jirga involving **representatives from all schools of thought** and political parties to promote peace.
Earlier, the **Peshawar High Court** heard Qaiser’s petition seeking details of cases registered against him. A division bench comprising **Justice Syed Arshad Ali** and **Justice Muhammad Faheem Wali** approved his plea and directed that **Asad Qaiser should not be arrested in any pending case** while seeking reports from the concerned authorities.
