Indian Media Wrongly Reports Death of Veteran Actor Dharmendra — Family Strongly Denies Rumors

Mumbai:On Tuesday morning, several major Indian media outlets — including *India Today*, *ABP News*, *News18*, and *Hindustan Times* — falsely reported the death of legendary Bollywood actor **Dharmendra**, prompting an immediate denial from his daughter **Esha Deol**.

The reports claimed that Dharmendra’s team had confirmed his passing on the morning of **November 11**, stating that the 89-year-old actor had been on a ventilator at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and had died earlier in the day.

Even prominent journalist **Rajdeep Sardesai** and writer-actor **Javed Akhtar** posted condolences on social media, further fueling the misinformation.

However, **Esha Deol** took to Instagram to deny the rumors, confirming that her father is alive and recovering. Later, Dharmendra’s wife, **Hema Malini**, also issued a strong statement on X (formerly Twitter), condemning the false reports.

“What’s happening is unforgivable! How can responsible news channels spread false information about a person who is under treatment and recovering?” she wrote. “This is humiliating and irresponsible — please respect our family’s privacy.”

The family has urged the public and media to refrain from sharing unverified information about the veteran actor’s health.
