President Zardari and PM Shehbaz Express Deep Grief Over the Death of Senator Irfan Siddiqui

Islamabad:President **Asif Ali Zardari** and Prime Minister **Shehbaz Sharif** have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of **Senator Irfan Siddiqui**, paying rich tributes to his lifelong services to democracy, education, and literature.
President Zardari, in his condolence message, said that **Irfan Siddiqui’s contributions to democracy and intellectual thought** will always be remembered. He prayed for the departed soul and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan has lost **a serious thinker, teacher, and principled intellectual**. He added that **Irfan Siddiqui embodied knowledge, tolerance, and wisdom**, which were evident in both his writings and personality.
The Prime Minister described Irfan Siddiqui as **a loyal member of the Pakistan Muslim League (N)** and a **close associate of Nawaz Sharif**, saying his services to the party and the nation will never be forgotten. “His intellectual legacy and national vision will continue to inspire future generations,” he said, adding that Siddiqui was **a humble, kind, and refined individual** who guided others with integrity and thoughtfulness.
Interior Minister **Mohsin Naqvi** also paid tribute to the late senator, saying that his **journalistic and political contributions** will be remembered forever.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs **Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry** said that Irfan Siddiqui was a **principled and ideological leader** of the PML-N who always practiced **decency, patience, and integrity** in politics.
Punjab Chief Minister **Maryam Nawaz Sharif** expressed her condolences, stating that Pakistani politics has lost **a dignified and honorable statesman**.
Sindh Governor **Kamran Tessori** also condoled the demise, describing Irfan Siddiqui as a **symbol of grace, principles, and civility**.
