27th Constitutional Amendment Passed in Senate; PTI’s Saifullah Abro and JUI-F’s Ahmad Khan Vote in Favor

Islamabad: The Senate on Monday approved the **27th Constitutional Amendment**, with **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Saifullah Abro** and **Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Senator Ahmad Khan** voting in favor of the bill.
Members of the **Awami National Party (ANP)** also supported the amendment, while several members of the opposition alliance **boycotted the voting process** in protest.
During clause-by-clause approval, the amendment received **64 votes in favor and only 2 against**, after which the **Chairman Senate issued the ruling**.
Political analysts noted that the move marks a **significant departure from both PTI and JUI-F’s earlier stances**, causing a fresh wave of political debate and unease surrounding the 27th Amendment in parliamentary circles.
