Government Warns Consumers Applying for LNG Connections of Higher Gas Prices

Islamabad: The government has issued a warning to consumers applying for new LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) connections, cautioning them that RLNG (Re-Gasified LNG) will be more expensive than the conventional Sui gas.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry advised applicants to keep in mind that LNG prices are higher, which will result in increased monthly gas bills. He urged consumers to use gas heaters and geysers carefully during the winter season to avoid excessive consumption.
Parliamentary Secretary Mian Khan Bugti announced that the government has lifted the ban on RLNG connections. He said around 250,000 applications for new gas connections have been received, adding that priority will be given to those consumers who have already applied.
