Digital Blackout’ in Quetta: Mobile Internet Suspended Over Security Concerns, Disrupting Students and Businesses

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily)** — The capital city of Balochistan faced a complete *digital blackout* on Friday as mobile phone and internet services were suspended due to security concerns, severely disrupting daily life for residents, students, and traders.
According to sources, the district administration ordered the suspension citing precautionary security measures. However, the lack of prior notice caused widespread confusion and frustration among the public.
The shutdown affected online classes, exam preparations, and digital payment systems such as *Easypaisa* and *JazzCash*, bringing much of the city’s business activity to a standstill.
Local traders expressed deep concern, saying that frequent internet suspensions continue to hinder Balochistan’s progress in education, commerce, and communication.
While the administration assured that services would be restored once the situation normalized, citizens urged the government to ensure timely public communication and consider the economic and educational impacts before imposing such restrictions in the future.
